R J's Restaurant: A Family Favorite Diner Experience in Shreveport

Rjs doesn't need reviews. It's a staple of South Shreveport. As long as RjS stands it'll have its very loyal customer base and I will always be a part of that as will my mom and dad. Pictured is my lifetime childhood meal and I ordered the liver and onions for my mom and the chicken fried steak meal for my dad. My server boxed them up for me and didn't pry. She was great. Rjs even after all these years was still home.

I went there for my bf birthday last night in the food was very good

We had a late dinner on Wednesday night. The waitress was so sweet and was always on top of keeping us happy. I ordered spaghetti, my hubs had chicken fried steak and eggs and our son had rj's burger. The homestyle fries was bland but the rest of the food was great. Huge servings. The sweet tea a hit. Definitely will go back

If you are looking for that homestyle service, atmosphere and cooking, this is the place!

I lived in the River Cities area, off and on, over 24 years. I never tried this place, or knew it was there for that matter. I had other business in the neighborhood and it was recommended. We went for breakfast. This is, hands down, the best breakfast I have tried in Shreveport. This is diner style and nothing fancy, just down home comfort food. If you're looking for avacado toast or everything bagels, look elsewhere. They have daily lunch specials for which you can substitute chicken fried steak. I've been back during lunch hours, but always get breakfast. Eggs are cooked perfectly to order. The servers have consistently paid closer attention to tables with single or double older gentlemen. Though I am an older gentleman, I have always been accompanied by a female or family group. My coffee always has been refilled last. The coffee is some of the best. If you're looking for a latte, again, look elsewhere because this ain't fancy. My first visit, I waited until the cook went on break and gave her a substantial tip. I wanted to make sure she got it, and not the server. She was thrilled. I will go back every time I'm in the neighborhood, but reside on the other side of town.

I can’t believe I had gone so long without visiting RJs for breakfast. Now whenever I’m in the area it will be a must. The biscuits are homemade, perfectly buttery, fluffy and flaky. The omelet is huge and very filling. The hash browns are cooked to the perfect amount of crispness. And to top it off, the service is genuinely kind.

I ordered a Loaded Omelet, while my wife ordered Two Eggs. Food was good but our grits was cold. Service was excellent as all the employees were very nice by greeting us and conversating with us. Restaurant appeared clean with people spread out for social distancing. I didn't see anybody wearing a mask, employees or customers, so I guess it is not required here. We will be back to try the lunch menu.

We are visiting from Arizona and stopped in to eat, we enjoyed everything. Food was delicious and our server, Mindy was very friendly and informative. Thank you
